The BIPOC Adoptees Docuseries - BIPOC Adoptees as Parents

This is a grassroots docuseries featuring BIPOC Adoptee voices. It will draw attention to a community whose voices are historically silenced and lie at the nexus of two impactful identities: an adopted person and BIPOC.

Our next production for the BIPOC Adoptees Docuseries is producing a short film that gives perspective and understanding of the lives of BIPOC Adoptees as parents.

Parenthood is, at the same time, a unique and universal experience– it forces us to reflect on ourselves in a life-changing way. For adoptees, there are complicated nuances to navigate when it comes to raising children. Our parents will spend time reflecting on parenthood. We tell these stories to give an honest narrative on adoption experiences and to help us shape the future.

Adoption is often misrepresented in the media and a collective adoptee voice has been rising to change the narrative and bring us together as a community. Our parents in this short film will share their hopes for their families and the adoptee community. We are changing the adoption narrative one story at a time. We know our voices are important and our collective voice is powerful.
